Abstract

Tembakau merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang memiliki
kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bioinsektisida. Senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terdapat dalam batang tembakau antara lain alkaloid (nikotin), terpenoid dan saponin yang dapat memberi efek toksik terhadap larva Plutella xylostella. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan besar konsentrasi ekstrak batang tembakau yang efektif terhadap mortalitas Plutella xylostella. Metode yang digunakan untuk ekstraksi adalah metode maserasi dan untuk pemberian pakan menggunakan metode celup daun.
Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 pengulangan yang terdiri dari konsentrasi ekstrak 0%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85% dan 90%. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA one way dengan uji lanjutan Tukey dan nilai LC50 dianalisis dengan analisis probit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak batang tembakau memberikan pengaruh terhadap mortalitas larva Plutella xylostella. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak, semakin tinggi jumlah mortalitas larva. Konsentrasi ekstrak batang tembakau yang efektif terhadap mortalitas larva Plutella xylostella adalah konsentrasi 80%.

Tobacco is one of the plants that contains secondary metabolites which can be used as bioinsecticides. Secondary metabolic compounds containing other alkaloids (nicotine), terpenoids and saponins can have a toxic effect on Plutella xylostella larvae. This study learned to study and concentrate tobacco stem extracts that are effective against mortality of Plutella xylostella. The method used for extraction is the maceration method and for feeding using the leaf dip method.
The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 repetitions consisting of concentrations of 0%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85% and 90%. The evaluation data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA with the Tukey follow-up test and the LC50 value was analyzed by probit analysis. The results showed that stem extract provided protection against Plutella xylostella mortality larvae. The higher the concentration of the extract, the higher the number of mortality larvae. The concentration of stem extract which is effective against the larval mortality of Plutella xylostella is a concentration of 80%.
