Abstract

Proses coal blending metode co-firing merupakan cara yang umum digunakan oleh pengelola PLTU batubara untuk melakukan optimasi dari sisi finansial. Ketika melakukan proses coal blending pengelola PLTU batubara mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan proporsi coal blending, jenis batubara coal blending, serta konfigurasi silo boiler yang paling sesuai dalam coal blending. Hal tersebut berdampak pada penurunan performance, kenaikan tingkat emisi, dan menimbulkan masalah operasional (coal plugging, slagging, fouling, coal self combustion), serta kenaikan Biaya Pokok Penyediaan (BPP) tenaga listrik. Permasalahan tersebut timbul karena pengelola PLTU batubara belum memiliki dasar yang tepat dalam melakukan coal blending, sehingga menyebabkan proses coal blending yang dilakukan kurang optimal.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh komposisi coal blending yang optimal, sehingga menghasilkan tingkat emisi, performance, permasalahan opersional, serta biaya pokok penyediaan tenaga listrik yang paling optimal. Metode optimasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sistem Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) dengan teknik goal programming. Goal dari optimasi ini adalah minimumkan Sulfur Content mewakili tingkat emisi, minimumkan harga batubara mewakili faktor finansial, maksimumkan nilai kalor batubara (HHV) mewakili faktor performance, dan minimumkan Rasio Basa (RB) mewaklili masalah operasional potensi slagging-fouling. Objective function dari optimasi ini adalah meminimalisir deviasi variabel goal antara batubara yang digunakan di boiler PLTU batubara dengan standard acuan yang digunakan.
Optimasi coal blending dilakukan pada PLTU batubara “X” yang menggunakan lima jenis batubara untuk mengisi lima silo boiler. Hasil dari optimasi coal blending, tiga jenis batubara terpilih untuk optimasi dengan sembilan variasi pengisian silo boliler dengan rata-rata pencapaian goal sebesar 137,45%, lebih baik dari kondisi sebelum optimasi dengan pencapaian goal sebesar 119,29%.

Coal blending process with co-firing method is a common way used by CFPP manager to do optimization in the financial side. CFPP manager find some difficulites during coal blending optimizatio to determine the optimum coal blending proportions, chose the coal type to beused in coal blending, and also coal silo configurations. This has an impact on decreasing performance, increasing emission levels, and causing operational problems (coal plugging, slagging-fouling, coal self combustion), and also increasing of electricity production cost. That problem happens because they don’t have standard to do coal bleding, thus causing coal bleding process less than optimal.
The goal of this research is to obtain optimal coal blending composition, to achieve optimum emission factor, performance, operational problem, and also electricity production cost. In this research we use Multi Criteria Decission Making (MCDM) method with goal programming technic. The goal of this optimization is to mimimize Sulphur content as representation of emission factor, to minimize coal price as representation of financial factor, to maximize coal heating value as representation of performance factor, and to minimize based ratio of ash as representation of operational problem, especially slagging-fouling problem. The objective function of this research is to minimize deviation constrain variable between coal standard and coal which is using in CFPP.
Coal blending optimization is carried out on CFPP which uses five type of coal to fill five boiler silos. The result of coal blending optimization, three types of coal were selected for optimization with nine variations of silo boiler filling with an average goal achievement 137,45%, better than the conditions before optimization with goal achievement 119,229%.
