Abstract

================================================================================================
The drainage system or water system of the karst area is very unique because it is dominated by subsurface flow, where most surface water enters underground river system which is difficult to determine its position and potential. Karst region is synonymous with drought problems because more drainage is found below the surface. The Karst area of Dersono Village is area with the worst drought in Pacitan District. Very Low Frequency - Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) method was chosen to map underground river system and water flow in Dersono Village area, Pringkuku District, Pacitan Regency. This method was chosen because it can map water saturated areas by utilizing current density value of material in the research area. The purpose of this research is to interpret complexity of the underground river system, maximum depth of the underground river, and direction of underground river using VLF-EM. There are 10 VLF lines with a length of 500-900 meters and 10 meters spacing. Data obtained in the form of equivalent current density values (RAE) that obtained from tilt angle data processed using Ms.office, Kh. Jelt, Surfer, and ArcGIS software. The results are RAE cross section and correlation map every 10-40 meters depth to find the pattern of underground river system. The value of high conductivity anomaly for each track ranges from 6 until 16 which is spread at a depth of 10 until 50 m. The direction of the underground river flow in the western zone of research area is estimated from east to west and in the eastern zone and southern zone of research area are estimated from northeast to southwest.
