Abstract

Meningkatnya penggunaan mesin diesel menghasilkan lebih banyak penggunaan bahan bakar mengakibatkan penipisan stok bahan bakar dan juga meningkatkan polusi udara. Pengembangan biodiesel merupakan solusi tepat untuk mengatasi masalah. Penggunaan biodiesel dari minyak kemiri yang telah dipelajari digunakan sebagai campuran bahan bakar solar. Penelitian sebelumnya menghasilkan emisi NOx yang tinggi. Studi ini membahas biodiesel minyak kemiri dengan mengemulsikan 15% metanol dalam upaya untuk mengurangi NOx. Detail dari penelitian ini adalah kinerja, proses pembakaran, dan emisi NOx. Metode eksperimen ini sesuai dengan tesy cycle dan weighting factor type E2 dalam MARPOL Lampiran IV Peraturan 13. Diharapkan bahwa penggunaan 10% emulsi metanol dalam biodiesel minyak kemiri menunjukkan hasil kinerja yang baik dapat dilihat dari daya, torsi, dan BMEP yang dihasilkan, sedangkan hasil emisi NOx bahan bakar emulsi M15 lebih rendah dan memenuhi standar IMO.

The increasing use of diesel engines produces more fuel use resulting in depletion of fuel stocks and also increasing air pollution. The development of biodiesel is the right solution to overcome the problem. The use of biodiesel from hazelnut oil that has been studied is used as a mixture of diesel fuel. Previous research produced high NOx emissions. This study discusses hazelnut oil biodiesel by emulsifying 15% methanol in an effort to reduce NOx. Details of this research are performance, and NOx emissions. This experimental method is in accordance with the thesis cycle and weighting factor type E2 in MARPOL Appendix IV Regulation 13. It is expected that the use of 10% methanol emulsion in hazelnut biodiesel shows good performance results can be seen from the power, torque and BMEP produced, while the emission results NOx M15 emulsion fuel is lower and meets IMO standards.
