Abstract

Gas hasil pembakaran mesin diesel mengandung polutan yang berbahaya bagi manusia. Polutan tersebut mencakup oksida belerang (SOx) , oksida nitrogen (NOx), karbon dioksida (CO2) , karbon monoksida (CO) , hidrokarbon (HC) , dan partikulat (PM).Salah satu peraturan dari IMO yang mengatur tentang polusi yang diakibatkan oleh kapal adalah MARPOL. Dalam regulasi MARPOL Annex VI, disebutkan batas kadar emisi beberapa jenis gas buang misalnya NOx, SOx dan Particulate Matter (PM) yang diakibatkan oleh gas buang pada mesin kapal, yang perlu dilakukan proses monitoring secara berkala. Untuk mendapatkan hasil monitoring emisi mesin diesel yang akurat , maka dibuatlahsebuah rancang bangun sistem monitoring gas buang mesin diesel konsentrasi NOx , SOx , dan CO secara real time berbasis mikrokontroller yang menggunakan mikrokontroller arduino untuk memonitoring konsentrasi gas buang mesin diesel. Sistem monitoring ini melakukan pembacaan CO menggunakan sensor MQ9,gas NOx menggunakan sensor MQ135 dan gas SOx menggunakan sensor 4SO2-2000. Hasil pembacaan sensor kemudian diolah oleh mikrokontroller Arduino Mega 2560 sebagai media pemrosesan sinyal. Sistem monitoring ini dilengkapi dengan display LCD 16x4 yang kemudian diolah kedalam Microsoft Excel sebagai data logger dari hasil pembacaan yang telah dilakukan.Untuk memastikan keakuratan pembacaan dibuat aplikasi kalibrasi dari Visual Basic. Hasil pembacaan sensor MQ9 memiliki respon time 56 detik , MQ135 16 detik dan 4SO2-2000 kurang dari 1 detik. Setelah dilakukan kalibrasi didapatkan bahwa sensor 4SO2-2000 pembacaannya sudah sama dengan alat ukur pembanding dan didapatkan nilai persamaan sensor MQ9 adalah y = 17.354x-0.441dan sensor MQ135 adalah y = 4.1856x-0.376

Gas from combustion diesel engines contains of pollutants that are harmful to humans. These pollutants include sulfur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and particulates (PM). One of the regulations from IMO that regulates the pollution caused by ships is MARPOL. In the MARPOL Annex VI regulation, it is stated that the emission limits for certain types of exhaust gases, for example NOx, SOx and Particulate Matter (PM) caused by exhaust gases on ship engines, need to be periodically monitored. To get accurate diesel engine emissions monitoring results, a design system for diesel engine exhaust gas concentrations of NOx, SOx, and CO was built in real time based on microcontrollers using Arduino microcontrollers to monitor diesel engine exhaust gas concentrations. This monitoring system reads CO using MQ9 sensors, NOx gas uses MQ135 sensors and SOx gas using 4SO2-2000 sensors. The sensor readings value are then processed by the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller as a signal processing media This monitoring system is equipped with a 16x4 LCD display which is then processed into Microsoft Excel as a data logger from the results of readings that have been done. To ensure the accuracy of the readings, a calibration application is made from Visual Basic. The MQ9 sensor readings have a response time of 56 seconds, MQ135 16 seconds and 4SO2-2000 in less than 1 second. After calibration, it was found that the 4SO2-2000 sensor reading was the same as the comparative measuring instrument and obtained the value of the MQ9 sensor equation is y = 17.354x-0.441 and the MQ135 sensor is y = 4.1856x-0.376
