Abstract

Modifikasi mesin diesel berbahan bakar tunggal menjadi mesin diesel berbahan bakar ganda atau Gas - Oil Fuel Engine banyak dilakukan oleh peneliti untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan semakin menipisnya cadangan minyak bumi di dunia. Disisi lain emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan dari mesin diesel berbahan bakar minyak sangat tinggi.Sistem kerja dari Dual Fuel Engine adalah memasukkan BBG (Bahan Bakar Gas) ke dalam ruang bakar bersamaan dengan udara pada saat langkah hisap di intake manifold dan akan ikut terbakar dengan bahan bakar minya. Bahan bakar gas dapat berupa liquid natural gas (LNG) ataupun compressed natural gas (CNG). BBG yang digunakan adalah CNG dan Pertamina DEX. Namun kinerja mesin ketika menggunakan penambahan bahan bakar gas mengalami penurunan. Pengaruh flow CNG dapat mempengaruhi daya, torsi effisiensi thermal, dan specific energy consumption. Pada penelitian ini sistem injeksi bahan bakar gas dikontrol dengan PLC dengan debit bahan bakar gas yang divariasi pada 4 l/m, 5 l/m dan 6 l/m. Dari hasil eksperimen didapatkan daya pada putaran maksimum dapat meningkat dengan menambahkan campuran CNG 4 l/m dan 6 l/m. Emisi gas buang NOx bertambah pada semua variasi campuran CNG kondisi beban 100%, 75%, dan 50%. Namun turun pada beban 25%. Emisi HC nilainya berbanding lurus dengan variasi penambahan CNG

Modification of a single fuel diesel engine into a dual fuel diesel engine or Gas Engine Oils is done by researchers to solve the problem of the depletion of petroleum reserves in the world. On the other hand exhaust emissions produced from diesel engines are very high in oil. The work system of the Dual Fuel Engine is to enter CNG (Gas Fuel) into the combustion chamber along with the air at the time of the suction step in the intake manifold and will also burn with the diesel oil. Two type of natural gas provided. It can be liquid natural gas (LNG) or compressed natural gas (CNG). The Double Fuel used is CNG and Pertamina DEX. But the performance of the engine when using the addition of gas fuel has decreased. The influence of CNG flow can affect power, thermal efficiency torque, and specific energy consumption. In this study the gas fuel injection system was controlled by PLC with gas fuel discharge varied at 4 l / m, 5 l / m and 6 l / m. From the experimental results, the maximum rotation power can be increased by adding a mixture of CNG 4 l / m and 6 l / m. NOx exhaust gas emissions increase in all variations of CNG mixture load conditions 100%, 75%, and 50%. But down at a load of 25%. HC emissions are directly proportional to the variation in CNG additions.
