Abstract

Menurut data Union for International Cancer Control (2015), setiap tahun terdapat sekitar 176.000 anak yang didiagnosis kanker.

According to Union for International Cancer Control (2015), there are about
176.000 children diagnosed with cancer. Each year, cancer is one of the death‟s cause
for 90.000 children around the world. Besides, there are 11.000 cases for cancer every
year. The willing to live and its motivation are the main factors to support the sufferer
reaching a successful treatment. This is why, lowering level of anxiety is needed to
keep the patient calm and increase the healing progress. A hospital building which
focused on children‟s emotional is expected to change the stigma of hospital in
children‟s eyes
Healing Environment is concept about the environment own‟s condition that
can be used to decrease the level of stress and patient anxiety which caused by the
hospital ambience and also support them in their healing process including any kind
of treatment they need to undergo. There are three methods used in designing the
building; nature based method, sense based method, and psychological method.
The design is based on healing garden method, behavior setting, and also color
playing. These methods are used to decrease the level of fear for children about
hospital, also gain more comfort for the children and decrease the anxiety level the
children suffered.
The building shape is designed to look familiar for children and not represent
the image of a hospital. To lessen the wariness level of them, there will be placed
spots for openings and garden in which can be used for children to play. There also
will be a specific garden for children as an escape place from the business of hospital.
