Abstract

Dalam Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) dompet borgol masih menggunakan alat yang sederhana dan manual, khususnya pada proses press kulit untuk pembuatan dompet borgol. Salah satu alternative untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas produksi kerajinan dompet borgol adalah dengan menggunakan mesin press.
Mesin pressyang akan dirancang ini lebih sederhana, denga gaya hasil press lebih homogen atau konstan, sehingga diperlukan perhitungan besaran gaya yang terjadi dan daya yang dibutuhkan dalam menggerakkan: punch, pegas tekan, flywheel, belt, puli, poros.
Hasil dari perancangan dan perhitungan didapatkan daya motor AC 2 HP dengan putaran 200Rpm untuk memutar poros dan flywheel dengan kecepatan putar (ηporos = η flywheel) 200rpm. System transmisi yang digunakan yaitu puli dan V-belt tipe A sedangkan bahan poros baja AISI 1040. Selain sederhana alat ini juga menghasilkan produk yang lebih homogen atau konstan, lebih hemat dari segi waktu dan tenaga karena dioperasikan otomatis dengan motor AC.

Nowdays,mostly small-medium enterprise which produce place of handcuffs are still using the simple machine. Particularly in pressing the leather, they still use the manual machine. One of the alternative way to rise up the efficiency and quality in making this product is using prees machine.
Press machine that have been designed in this experiment is simpler, but the result is more homogeneous or constant. So, it is important to pay attention to the calculation of the magnitude of energy that would happen and the power to move the punch, spring, flywheel, belt, pulley, and axis.
By calculation from those aspects, the result of this experiment in desingning this press machine is motor power AC 2HP with a round of 200Rpm is need to roll the axis and fly wheel in speed (ηshaft=η ) 200Rpm. The transmission system that used in this machine is pulley and V-belt type A, and than the material of axis is steel AISI 1040. Beside simple and able to produce the products which more homogeneous or constant, this machine also has other benefit. It also can save time and energy because it works automatically by using AC motor.
