Abstract

Terdapat dua langkah
untuk menentukan nilai PCI ini. Pertama yaitu memastikan seting
koordinasi proteksi sudah tepat. Langkah kedua adalah mencari nilai
Coordination Time Interval (CTI) dengan cara mengetahui nilai arus
PT. Pertamina RU V Balikpapn ingin memasang sebuah DG kapasitas 5
MVA.

Continuity of electrical power supply in an industry
indispensable to guarantee the implementation of production processes.
In fact, sometimes the process was interrupted due to the lack of
electrical power supplied so must be increase their generating units.
However, owned plant to be more environmentally friendly. Distributed
Generation (DG) with Renewable Energy is a solution to solved it.
Injecting DG can be affected the existing protection system.
Determination of DG location that will be installed must be properly
addressed so that the effect can be reduced. In this paper, the
determination DG location is based on the value of Coordination
Protection Index (PCI). There are two steps to determine the value of
PCI. The first is to make sure the settings are correct on protection
coordination. The second step is to look for the value of Coordination
Time Interval (CTI) by knowing the value of short circuit current. The
largest PCI value was indicates that the DG has the least influence.
The evaluation is tested on distribution system PT. Pertamina
RU V Balikpapan with five candidates buses are Bus 1HT, Bus D, Bus
C, Bus B, and Bus A. From the simulation results and analysis of the DG
with the capacity of 5 MVA, the biggest PCI value was in the bus B is
equal to 185,15. While, the smallest PCI value was in the bus 1HT for
only 68.49. With this value, the bus B can be recommended if PT.
Pertamina RU V Balikpapn want to install a 5 MVA DG.
