Abstract

Metode baru dalam me-recovery logam Tembaga (Cu) dari
electronic waste (e-waste) adalah menggunakan bantuan listrik
yang disebut electro-leaching. Metode tersebut merupakan
metode alternatif pengganti metode leaching tradisional.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melarutkan tembaga dengan metode
electro-leaching. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini
adalah Simcard dan garam (NaCl) sebagai elektrolit. Simcard
mengandung logam tembaga dan beberapa logam berharga
lainnya seperti perak (Ag), emas (Au) dan palladium (Pa). Proses
electro-leaching dilakukan di dalam reaktor electrolytic cell
dimana gas klorin akan dihasilkan dari proses elektrolisis
selanjutnya gas klorin akan mengekstrak tembaga yang terdapat
pada Simcard. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memvariasikan
potensial elektroda (voltase)/arus listrik (ampere), konsentrasi
garam dan waktu. Dari penelitian ini, simcard mengandung logam
Tembaga (Cu) sebesar 40,53% dan dapat dipisahkan dengan
metode elektro-leaching dalam reaktor acrylic berpengaduk
dengan hasil terbaik pada kondisi operasi ; Suhu 30⁰ C, tekanan 1
atm, konsentrasi larutan garam 10%, beda potensial 10 Volt,
waktu leaching 60 menit, dan kecepatan pengadukan 600 rpm
menghasilkan yield campuran logam Simcard sebesar 98,59%.

New methods to dissolve the copper (Cu) of electronic waste (ewaste)
is leaching with the help of electricity, called electroleaching.
This is the alternative method to change the traditional
leaching methods. The objective of this research is copper
dissolving using electro-leaching method. Materials used in this
study is Simcard with contain 40.53 % copper and salt (NaCl) as
the electrolyte. Simcard metal containing copper and some other
precious metals such as silver (Ag), gold (Au) and palladium (Pa).
Electro-leaching process occurs in an electrolytic cell reactor
where chlorine gas will be produced by electrolysis process and
then chlorine gas generated will extract the copper in the Simcard.
This research was conducted by various electrode potential
(voltage)/electric current (ampere), salt concentration, and time.
The operation condition was kept at pressure 1 atm, temperature
30oC, and the stirring speed of 600 rpm. The best result shows
98.59% simcard metal could be removed by electroleaching with
10 volt electrode potential on 60 minutes process in 10 % saline
solution.
