Abstract

Super duplex stainless steel merupakan material dengan
ketahanan korosi yang tinggi. Tetapi adanya presipitasi fasa
sigma mengakibatkan turunnya ketahanan korosi. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh temperatur dan holding
time solution annealing terhadap struktur mikro dan ketahanan
korosi super duplex SAF 2507. Solution annealing tersebut
dilakukan untuk melarutkan presipitasi fasa sigma. Variasi
temperatur pada proses solution annealing ialah 1000 oC, 1065
oC dan 1125 oC dengan waktu tahan selama 15 dan 30 menit
untuk masing-masing temperatur. Pengaruh dari proses solution
annealing dianalisis dengan XRD, Mikroskop Optik, SEM dan Uji
Weight Loss. Dari hasil pengujian yang dilakukan, presipitasi
fasa sigma masih ditemukan pada hasil variasi temperatur
1000oC, tetapi sudah benar-benari larut pada hasil variasi 1065
oC dan 1125 oC. Pada pengujian weight loss, kehadiran fasa
sigma pada hasil variasi temperatur 1000oC menurunkan
ketahanan korosi yang mengakibatkan banyaknya massa yang
hilang dibandingkan dengan hasil variasi temperatur 1065oC dan
1125oC.

temperature and holding time of solution annealing on
microstructure and corrosion resistance of super duplex SAF
2507. Solution annealing process was done to dissolve
precipitation of sigma phase. Variation of solution annealing
temperatures were 1000oC, 1065oC and 1125oC with holding time
15 and 30 minutes for each temperature. Effect of solution
annealing process was characterized by XRD, SEM, Optical
Microscopy and Weight Loss Test. The result showed
precipitation of sigma phase had not dissolved by solution
annealing at 1000oc but completely dissolved by solution
annealing at 1065oC and 1125oC. This precipitation of sigma
phase at 1000oC affected its corrosion resistance causing
excessive amount of weight loss compared to the result of 1065oC
and 1125oC.
