Abstract

Letusan gunung berapi merupakan salah satu fenomena alam
yang disebabkan oleh parameter geofisik dan geomorfologi. Gunung
bencana akibat letusan gunung api. Teknik penentuan aliran lahar
berdasarkan teori aliran hidrologi.

Volcanic eruption is one of the natural phenomenon which
caused by geophysics and geomorphology parameters. Mount
Semeru, located in Lumajang, East Java, is volcanian and
strombolian type of volcano eruption which is a high threat to the
nearby society. Volcanic eruptions produce hydrology flow (volcanic
mudflow and lava), hot cloud and volcanic ash.
The data which is used to determine the lahar and lava flow
is InSAR DEM and DEM data from RBI map contours. DEM data
can help to model the determination of the flow. The produced model
flow represent the actual flow in reality, so it can be used to monitor
and mitigation disasters that caused by volcanic eruptions.
Determination technique of lahar and lava flows in this study use the
steepest slope method based on hydrological flow theory.
Based on model flow direction, it generates flow direction
percentage which results have a high value on the east to the west
flow. It can be concluded that the flow direction that comes from the
top of Gunung Semeru is dominant to the east, southeast, south,
south-west and west. The flow passes through river several region in
viii
Malang and Lumajang, then finally the flow to the south and end in
the Indian Ocean.
