Abstract

Semakin berkembangnya industri bidang manufaktur di Indonesia menuntut para pelaku industri untuk terus melakukan peningkatan kualitas pada perusahaannya agar dapat bersaing dengan yang lain. Kualitas itu sendiri memiliki fungsi pada perusahaan yaitu meningkatkan reputasi perusahaan, penurunan biaya produksi, peningkatan pangsa pasar, pertanggungjawaban produk, dampak internasional, dan penampilan produk itu sendiri. Produk barang atau jasa yang berkualitas akan menumbuhkan rasa puas pada konsumen sekaligus meningkatkan kepercayaan dan loyalitas konsumen kepada perusahaan. Salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri percetakan adalah PT. Antar Surya Jaya yang bertempat di Rungkut, Jawa Timur. Perusahaan ini bergerak di bidang percetakan yang memproduksi koran, majalah, buku, dan tabloid. Pada produk amatan buku yang menggunakan sistem make to order (MTO) perusahaan selalu ingin memastikan agar produknya sesuai dengan permintaan dan keinginan konsumen. Namun walaupun telah didukung dengan mesin produksi yang terotomasi, PT. Antar Surya Jaya masih mengalami berbagai macam permasalahan dalam proses produksinya. Permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut berasal dari eksternal dan internal perusahaan. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan di atas khususnya permasalahan internal, digunakan beberapa metode untuk antara lain process activity mapping, value stream mapping, 7-Waste, BORDA, root cause analysis, failure mode and effect analysis, dan value engineering. Dengan mengunakan metode BORDA diketahui waste kritis yang paling berpengaruh adalah waste kategori defect, inappropriate processing, dan waiting. Selanjutnya dirancang alternatif perbaikan menggunakan metode value engineering sehingga didapat alternatif perbaikan dengan kombinasi alternatif dua dan tiga. Alternatif tersebut antara lain membuat tim khusus untuk pembentukan tim khusus untuk melakukan pengembangan kecepatan set-up, pembuatan SOP baru serta melakukan melakukan perancangan waktu standar menggunakan metode motion time study, dan pembaharuan shift dan beban kerja dengan biaya total sebesar Rp 6.800.000,00

As the manufacturing industries advance forward, the market demands all industries to maintain and improve their production quality in order to be able to compete with competitors. The quality itself has some functions that benefit the company, they are increasing company’s reputation, decreasing production cost, increasing in market share, product responsibility, international impact, and appeareance of the produk itself. The product –goods or services- which has good quality will increase costumer satisfaction. Not only costumer satisfaction but also costumer trus and loyalty. One company that is engaged in the printing industry is PT. Antar Surya Jaya housed in Rungkut, East Java. The company is engaged in printing that produces newspapers, magazines, books, and tabloids. In the book of observations products that use the system make to order (MTO) companies always want to make sure that their products conform to the demands and desires of consumers. However, although the company has been supported by automated production engine, PT. Antar Surya Jaya still experiences some issues in their production system. Those issues come from the internal and external of the company. To resolve the issues mentioned above, especially the internal problem the writer use some methods which are process activity mapping, value stream mapping, 7-Waste, BORDA, root cause analysis, failure mode and effect analysis, and value engineering. By using a method known BORDA most influential critical waste is waste categories defect, Inappropriate processing, and waiting. Next step is designing the improvement alternatives by applying value engineering. By going through that method, the writer acquire second and third improvement alternatives. Those alternatives include making a special team to carry out the development in the setup speed, creation of new SOP and make time to do the design standards using motion time study, and renewal shifts and workloads. All those alternatives costs approximately Rp 6,800,000.00
