Abstract

Pressure reducer pada sistem dual fuel berfungsi menurunkan tekanan bahan bakar CNG dari 250 bar menjadi 2 bar pada tekanan kerja, tetapi kurang adaptif terhadap pasokan jumlah bahan bakar CNG. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan performa dari pressure reducer agar lebih responsif pada perubahan kondisi mesin terutama saat akselarasi pada penambahan beban sehingga berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan performa mesin.
Penelitian ini menggunakan mesin Diamond type Di 800 dengan sistem dual fuel model indirect injection. Metode yang dilakukan adalah menvariasikan konstanta pegas (25,55 N/m, 26,55 N/m, dan 27,55 N/m) dan tekanan gas keluar pada stage dua (1,5 bar, 2 bar, dan 2,5 bar).
Hasil terbaik didapatkan pada konstanta pegas 27,55 N/m dan tekanan 2,5 bar terjadi peningkatan jumlah laju aliran gas 7,42% dan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap daya efektif mesin, torsi, BMEP jika dibandingkan dengan singel fuel, namun CNG tersubsitusi menggantikan bahan bakar solar sebesar 60,2% dengan peningkatan SFC dual fuel rata-rata sebesar 27,5% kg/HP.h dan menurunkan SFC solar rata-rata sebesar 59,4%, efisiensi termal rata-rata sebesar 21,2% serta penurunan AFR rata-rata sebesar 37,5%.

The pressure reducer on the dual fuel system is to reduce the pressure of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) from 250 bars into 2 bars on the working pressure, but it is less adaptive to the quantity of CNG supply. This research is to increase the performance of the pressure reducer to be more responsive to the changing of the engine condition, especially during the acceleration on the additional load. Therefore, the effect is to increase on the engine performance. This research used the Diamond type DI 800 dual fuel diesel engine with indirect injection mode. The method which used is vary the main spring stiffness (25.55 N/m, 26.55 N/m and 27.55 N/m) and the outlet gas pressure on the secondary stage (1.5 bars, 2 bars and 2.5 bars). The best result found in the main spring stiffness of 27.55 N/m on the oulet gas pressure of 2.5 bars increased the quantity of the gas flow rate by 7.42% and had no significant effect on the engine effective power, torque, BMEP when compared to the single fuel, but solar fuel substituted by the CNG to 59% with the increase of the dual fuel SFC around 73% kg/HP.h and reduced the solar SFC the thermal efficiency as well the AFR around 57%, 66% and 42% respectively.
