Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan fabrikasi dan karakterisasi directional coupler konfigurasi 3×3 planar berbahan serat optik plastik step index moda jamak tipe FD-620- 10 dengan panjang kupasan 35 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm, 55 mm, 60 mm dan 65 mm menggunakan pendekatan metode Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) yang menghasilkan karakteristik yang berbeda. Hasil karakterisasi directional coupler konfigurasi 3×3 planar menggunakan BF5R-D1-N menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar panjang kupasan maka semakin besar rugi daya dan semakin kecil intensitas cahaya yang diteruskan. Pada directional coupler konfigurasi 3×3 planar dengan panjang kupasan 60 mm dan input pada Port B1 didapatkan nilai CR = 0.34 : 0.31 : 0.35; Le = -3.59 dB; Lins = -8.24 dB, -8.67 dB, -8.19 dB; dan D = - 13.33 dB, -13.43 dB. Piranti ini paling baik digunakan sebagai pembagi daya maupun pemecah berkas sehingga selanjutnya dapat digunakan sebagai piranti dalam sensor. ======================================================================================================= Research about fabrication and characterization of directional coupler with configuration of 3×3 planar of plastic optical fiber multi-mode step index-type FD-620-10 has been conducted with peeling length 35 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm, 55 mm, 60 mm and 65 mm using the approach method Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) which produce different characteristics. Results of characterization of directional coupler 3×3 planar configuration using BF5R-D1-N shows that the greater length of peeling, the greater the power loss and the smaller the light intensity transmitted. In the directional coupler 3 × 3 planar configuration with peeling length 60 mm and input on Port B1 obtained value CR =0.34 : 0.31 : 0.35 ; Le = -3.59 dB; Lins = - 8.24 dB, -8.67 dB, -8.19 dB; and D = -13.33 dB, -13.43 dB. This device is best used as a power divider and the beam splitter so that the device can then be used as the sensor.
