Abstract

91,08%. Penambahan PEG 400 sebanyak 2% (b/b)
meningkatkan fluks air hingga 16,51 L/m2jam, sedangkan
sulfonasi selama 120 menit meningkatkan rejeksi hingga
91,33%.
================================================================================================
The purpose of this research is to improve cellulose
acetate (CA) ultrafiltration membrane performance by adding
polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400 and sulfonation. Membranes were
fabricated by immersion precipitation phase inversion method.
Fabricated membranes were characterized with FTIR and SEM,
while their pure water flux and rejection towards Congo red were
tested at 2 bar. CA membrane achieved its optimum performance
at 17,5% (w/w) of CA with pure water flux of 13,57 L/m2h and
rejection of 91,08%. Addition of 2% (w/w) PEG 400 improved
pure water flux to 16,51 L/m2h, meanwhile 120 minutes
sulfonation improved rejection to 91,33%.
