Abstract

Perkembangan material kini telah mengalami kemajuan cukup pesat yang
ditunjukkan dengan adanya beberapa material inovatif yang dikembangkan dan
digunakan pada berbagai macam bentuk konstruksi, termasuk untuk material
konstruksi kapal. Material sandwich panel yang merupakan material komposit,
dalam bentuk lapisan antara dua jenis material yang berbeda kini telah
berkembang penggunaanya dalam industri perkapalan, seperti sandwich plate
system dengan kombinasi pelat baja dan polyurethane elastomer.
Penelitian ini melakukan analisa material komposit sandwich panel dengan
kombinasi pelat baja dan beberapa core material yang mudah ditemukan dalam
industri perkapalan dalam negeri, yaitu polyurethane foam, polyresin dan
synthetic resin. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen yang meliputi
pengujian reaktivitas, densitas dan kekuatan tarik material untuk mendapatkan
nilai persyaratan yang diberikan oleh DNV. Investigasi juga dilakukan pada
material sandwich panel yang berhasil dibuat dengan kombinasi pelat baja sebagai
lapisan faceplate dan synthetic resin (50% resin : 50% talk : 0,3% katalis) sebagai
core material, untuk mendapatkan nilai kekuatan material sampai pada pegaruh
aplikasi material dibagian struktur pelat datar pada konstruksi kapal.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sandwich panel memberikan peningkatan nilai
kekuatan core material 79,07% dan menambah nilai regangan core material
75,27% dengan kemampuan absorpsi beban sebesar 29,02% dari kondisi baja
normal. Analisa aplikasi sandwich panel pada struktur kapal menunjukkan
perubahan bentuk konstruksi dengan berkurangnya penggunaan penegar dan
penumpu, sehingga menghasilkan perubahan berat konstruksi sebesar -13,08%.
Analisa tersebut hanya dilakukan pada beberapa block di bagian parallel middle
body kapal, sehingga kedepannya perlu dikembangkan pada bentuk full body
kapal

The development of materials has now been rapid progress with some
innovative materials that are developed and used in various forms of construction,
including for ship construction material. Sandwich panel material is a composite
material, in the form of a layer between two types of different material that has
now developed its use in the shipping industry, such as sandwich plate system
with a combination of steel plates and polyurethane elastomers.
This research will analyze the composite sandwich panel material with a
combination of steel plate and some core materials which are easily found in the
national ship industry, such as polyurethane foam, polyresin and synthetic resin.
Identification is conducted with experimental method, which includes the
reactivity test, density test and strength of the material, to obtain the required
values given by DNV. Investigation are also conducted at sandwich panel material
were successfully created, with a combination of steel plates as a layer faceplate
and synthetic resin (50% resin : 50% talc : 0,3% catalyst) as the core material, to
get the value of strength material and applications effects in structural flat plate in
the ship construction.
Based on the experiment results, sandwich panel provide improved strength
of core material 79,07% and increases the strain value of core material until
75,27%, with load absorption capability until 29,02% compared to normal steel
material. The analysis of sandwich panel application in the ship structure has
shown the changes in the form of construction, by the reduction of longitudinal
girders and stiffeners. The reduction of girders and stiffeners reduces the weight
of construction to -13,08%. The analysis is only done at several blocks in the
parallel middle body of the ship, for the next research needs to be developed in
the full body of the ship.
