Abstract

Submarine pipeline is a transportation technology that is used for transporting hydrocarbon. Oil and gas industry has proven that the use of submarine pipelines is the most economical to transport fluids in a large scale. In this study, an analysis of on-bottom stability and local buckling on a submarine pipeline from the platform to the ULA platform belonging PT.PHE UW ONWJ. On-bottom stability analysis aims to determine whether the submarine pipeline vertically and laterally stable on the seabed when exposed to hydrodynamic loads. Local buckling analysis aims to determine allowable free span length of the pipeline in order to avoid pipeline buckling. Horizontal hydrodynamic force on the condition of the installation and operation is 405 N / m and 1119 N / m respectively. Vertical hydrodynamic force on the condition of the installation and operation is 138 N / m and 1058 N / m respectively. Soil passive resistance on the conditions of installation and operation is 111 N / m and 121 N / m respectively. Based on the criteria of absolute lateral static, submarine pipelines unstable laterally on installation and operating conditions for the actual submerged weight is smaller than the minimum submerged weight that must be fulfilled in order to be stable. Based on the criteria for generalized parameter submarine pipeline unstable laterally on the operating condition, but stable laterally on the installation conditions. Allowable pipeline free span length to avoid local buckling is 50 m.
