Abstract

Baja tahan karat duplex memiliki sifat kekuatan dan
ketahanan korosi yang tinggi. Sehingga sering digunakan pada
lingkungan kerja yang membutuhkan kekuatan tinggi dan
lingkungan yang korosif. Pada temperatur 600o-1000oC, terjadi
penggetasan presipitasi akibat terbentuknya fasa sigma yang
menurunkan sifat keuletan, ketangguhan dan ketahanan korosi.
Penghilangan fasa sigma ini, dapat dilakukan dengan cara proses
solution treatment. Selanjutnya dilakukan proses solution
treatment dengan variasi temperatur solution treatment dan
waktu tahan. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa Duplex
S329 material awal memang memiliki ketahanan korosi crevice
yang buruk pada temperatur tinggi (50oC). Peningkatan
temperatur solution treatment dan waktu tahan dapat
menurunkan kekerasan dan meningkatkan kekuatan impak. Hal
ini disebabkan jumlah fasa sigma mengalami penurunan. Duplex
S329 dengan solution treatment 1050oC dan waktu tahan 90
menit memiliki ketahanan korosi pitting dan crevice yang buruk
pada temperatur tinggi (50oC). Kekerasan dan kekuatan impak
Duplex S329 dengan solution treatment 1050oC untuk seluruh
waktu tahan mampu mengembalikan kekerasan dan kekuatan
impak sesuai dengan sifat mekanik awal baja Duplex S329.

Duplex Stainless Steel has high strength and very good
corrosion resistant properties. Because of that properties, duplex
often used in work environment that need high strength and good
corrosion resistance. At temperatur 600o-1000oC, duplex stainless
steel can has embrittlement precipitation because sigma phase that
can reduce the ductility, thoughness, and the corrosion resistance.
This phase can be removed with solution treatment process. The
process solution treatment was performed with variations in
solution treatment temperature and holding time. From the result of
this study, it was found that the raw material Duplex S329 has low
corrosion resistance on the high temperature (50oC). The increase
of solution treatment temperature and holding time can reduce the
hardness and increase impact strength because the decrease of
sigma phase. Duplex S329 with solution treatment at 1050oC and
holding time 90 minutes has low pitting and crevice corrosion
resistance on the high temperature (50oC). Duplex S329 with
solution treatment at 1050oC for any holding time can return
hardness and impact strength as well as the raw material
