Abstract

Pengujian bare fiber strain sensor dan pengujian packaged strain sensor berbasis serat optik berstruktur Singlemode-Multimode-Singlemode (SMS) menggunakan jenis serat optik multimode step-index dengan material packaging berupa aluminium telah dilakukan baik secara perhitungan maupun eksperimen. Packaging sensor strain dilakukan untuk melindungi serat optik dari kerusakan. Pengujian performansi sensor dilakukan dengan cara mengukur daya output dari sensor berdasarkan strain yang diberikan. Pengujian sensor strain menggunakan panjang gelombang operasi 1550 nm pada range strain 0-1060 μɛ. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan sensitivitas sensor strain pada panjang 44.35 mm adalah sebesar 0.0023 dBm/μɛ sedangkan berdasarkan hasil eksperimen sensitivitas sensor sebesar 0.0022 dBm/ μɛ. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan sensitivitas packaged fiber strain sensor sebesar 0.0021 dBm/micro strain sedangkan berdasarkan hasil eksperimen sensitivitas packaged fiber strain sensor sebesar 0.0015 dBm/ μɛ

Optical fiber need to be packaged to protect the optical fiber. Perfomancion test of the strain sensor investigated power output due to strain. Investigation of strain sensor is using wavelength operation 1550 nm and range of strain sensor is 0-1060 μɛ.
