Abstract

PT Krakatau Steel (persero) Tbk. merupakan salah satu BUMN
manufaktur baja terbesar di Indonesia yang melakukan proses peleburan baja
hingga memproduksi produk baja seperti slab, wire, dan coil. Salah satu produk
PT KS yaitu cold rolled coil (CRC) yang banyak digunakan oleh industri
manufaktur lain sebagai bahan baku. PT KS mempertimbangkan perbaikan
supaya proses produksi CRC semakin baik dan efisien untuk meningkatkan daya
saing perusahaan. Permasalahan yang umum dihadapi pabrik CRM antara lain
peningkatan produk yang cacat dan terjadinya breakdown pada mesin-mesin
produksi CRC. Metode lean six sigma diusulkan untuk menangani masalah
tersebut dengan target mereduksi pemborosan dan mengurangi non-value-added
activity akibat pemborosan. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan langkah-langkah
quality improvement DMAIC Six Sigma yang terdiri dari fase define, measure,
analyze, improvement, dan control. Dilakukan identifikasi pada proses produksi
dan ditemukan masalah terkait produk coil cacat (defect) dan waktu breakdown
yang tinggi pada beberapa mesin (waiting). Masalah defect dapat dikaitkan
dengan pemakaian energi listrik dan gas, sedangkan waiting berkaitan dengan
biaya yang dikeluarkan per jamnya. Metode RCA dan FMEA digunakan untuk
menganalisis penyebab masalah kecacatan produk dan breakdown mesin serta
efek yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh potential cause. Berdasarkan hasil analisis,
dirumuskan beberapa alternatif perbaikan. Target dari penerapan alternatif
perbaikan tersebut yaitu menurunkan jumlah produk cacat yang berdampak pada
penggunaan energi dan menekan waktu breakdown pada mesin-mesin kritis.

Indonesia, which processes smelting of steel until producing steel product, such as
slab, wire and coil. One product of PT Krakatau Steel (persero) Tbk. is cold roller
coil (CRC), which used in other manufacture industry as raw material. PT
Krakatau Steel considers improvement in order production process of CRC
getting better and more efficient, to increase competitive advantage of company.
The common problems which are faced by plant CRM is the increasing of
defective product and breakdown of CRM production machine. Lean six sigma
method is proposed to overcome the problem by reducing waste and non-added
value activity caused by waste. This research is done based on stages of quality
improvement Six Sigma DMAIC, which consists of stage of define, measure,
analyze, improvement and control. It is done identification in the production
process and found defective coil product and high breakdown time in some
machines (waiting). Defect product is linked with electrical and gas energy usage,
waiting is linked with cost spent per hour. RCA and FMEA method is used to
analyze cause of defective product, machine breakdown and the effect impacted
by potential cause. Based on analysis result, it is formulated some alternatives of
improvement. Target of improvement implementation is to reduce amount of
defective product which impacts on energy usage and reduce breakdown time of
critical machines.
