Abstract

Sintesis zeolit Y dari kaolin Bangka Belitung sebagai sumber silika dan alumina telah dipelajari. Zeolit Y disintesis menggunakan metode hidrotermal untuk mengetahui pengaruh rasio mol SiO2/Al2O3 (x) = 4, 5, 6, dan 7. Pada penelitian ini, zeolit Y disintesis dengan komposisi rasio mol pada seed gel 10,67Na2O:xSiO2:1Al2O3:180H2O dan komposisi rasio mol pada feedstock gel 4,3Na2O:xSiO2:1Al2O3:180H2O menggunakan metode hidrotermal pada suhu 105 °C. Hasil padatan dikarakterisasi menggunakan teknik difraksi sinar-X (XRD) dan spektroskopi inframerah (FTIR) yang menunjukkan bahwa zeolit Y mulai terbentuk pada sampel dengan rasio mol SiO2/Al2O3 4 dan waktu hidrotermal 12 jam. Berdasarkan hasil XRD yang diperoleh, sampel dengan rasio mol SiO2/Al2O3 4 dan 5 menghasilkan intensitas partikel fasa zeolit Y yang tinggi dan intensitas partikel fasa gismondin yang rendah. ================================================================================================= Synthesis of zeolite Y from kaolin Bangka Belitung as a source of silica and alumina has been studied. Zeolite Y has been carried out by hydrotermal method to determine the effect of variation molar composition of SiO2/Al2O3 (x) = 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the synthesis of zeolite Y. In this research, zeolite Y synthesized with ratio mol composition on seed gel 10,67Na2O:xSiO2:1Al2O3:180H2O and on feedstock gel 4,3Na2O:xSiO2:1Al2O3:180H2O using hydrothermal method in 105 °C temperature. The solid results were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed that zeolite Y began to form on the sample at the molar composition of SiO2/Al2O3 = 4 and the time 12 hours of hydrotermal. Based on the intensity obtained, the sample with the ratio mol composition of SiO2/Al2O3 4 and 5 produced high particle intensity of zeolite Y phase and low particle intensity of gismondine phase.
