Abstract

Widya Wahana V adalah mobil tenaga surya karya mahasiswa
ITS yang akan mengikuti kejuaraan World Solar Challenge 2015 di
Australia. Body dan chassis dari WidyaWahana V menggunakan
material komposit, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian terkait kekakuan
dan kekuatan dari rancangan desain Body dan chassis Widya Wahana V.
Metode yang dilakukan dalam penilitian ini adalah metode
simulasi menggunakan software finite element. Material WidyaWahana
V menggunakan epoxy dengan penguat carbon fiber ditambah
aluminium honeycomb dan nomex honeycomb sebagai material inti pada
body dan chassis Widya Wahana V. Pada penelitian ini terdapat empat
model Widya Wahana V, dimana masing-masing model dilakukan
pembebanan statis berupa torsional bending, vertikal bending dan
lateral bending.
Dari keempat model Widya Wahana V, didapatkan model 1
yang diambil sebagai rancangan desain terbaik WidyaWahana V. Hasil
Widya Wahana V model 1 memiliki kekuatan yang baik, dimana
tegangan maksimal yang dihasilkan akibat vertikal bending sebesar
28,653 Mpa dan akibat lateral bending sebesar 95,995 Mpa, nilai
tersebut masih berada dibawah tegangan izin dari material. Kekakuan
yang dimilliki Widya Wahana V model 1 juga baik dengan melihat
profil jalan Australia yang memiliki permukaan halus, dimana nilai
torsional stiffness yang dimiliki Widya Wahana V model 1 sebesar
10.539,38 Nm/deg. Berat yang dimiliki Widya Wahana V model 1
sebesar 72,364 Kg dan masih berada dibawah berat maksimal
rancangan.

Widya Wahana V is a Solar powered vehicle, a work of ITS’s
undergraduate student that will join the World Solar Challenge 2015 in
Australia. WidyaWahana V’s Body and Chassis is made of composite
material, therefore a further research about its Body and Chassis’s
Stiffness and the Strength is needed.
The method used in this research is the method of simulation
using finite element software.Widya Wahana V’s is using epoxy and
carbon fiber reinforcement with aluminium honeycomb and nomex
honeycomb for Widya Wahana V’s body and chassis core material. In
this study there are four model of Widya Wahana V, where in each
model is done in the form of static loading torsional bending, vertical
bending and lateral bending.
From the four model of Widya Wahana V, obtained the model
1 is the best design draft of Widya Wahana V. The result of the first
model has a good streght where the maximum stress due to vertical
bending is 28.653 Mpa and the lateral bending is 95.995 Mpa, the value
is still under the material’s yield strength.Widya Wahana V’s stiffness is
also good to see that the Australian road profile is well-built, whereas
the value of its Torsional Stiffness of the first model of Widya Wahana
V is 10,539.38 Nm/deg. The weight of the first model of Widya Wahana
V is 73.364 Kg and still under its design’s draft.
