Abstract

merupakan suatu bentuk saluran tertutup yang mengalami pengecilan luas penampang melintang sepanjang arah aliran fluida. Pengecilan luas penampang menyebabkan aliran fluida mengalami peningkatan kecepatan yang berakibat menurunnya tekanan aliran. Dalam melihat performa nozzle terdapat beberapa hal perlu dianalisis yaitu pressure loss, flowrate dan, coefficient of pressure (Cp). Besar pressure loss yang terjadi akibat flow contraction effect menyebabkan aliran fluida tidak mampu menahan laju pembentukan lapisan batas. Terjadinya pressure loss yang besar menyebabkan debit atau flowrate yang keluar dari nozzle tidak sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan. Pressure loss yang besar menyebabkan nilai Cp (coefficient of pressure) yang besar pula. Nilai Cp menjadi parameter penting untuk menganalisa dalam konteks penerapannya di nozzle. Nilai Cp yang besar menyebabkan nilai Cd (cofficient of discharge) semakin kecil. Penurunan nilai Cd ini dapat mengurangi performa kerja pada nozzle. Nilai Cd merupakan perbandingan antara besarnya actual discharge nozzle dengan ideal discharge nozzle rate. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterkaitan nilai discharge coefficient (Cd) dan turbulensi terhadap performa nozzle yang merupakan bagian dari closed loop-windtunnel

Nozzle is a form of closed channels which is experienced a constriction of cross-sectional area along the direction of flow of the fluid. Constriction of the cross-sectional area causes an increasing the speed of the fluids resulting the decreasing of flow pressure. In observing the performance of the nozzle there are are some things that need to be analyzed, include : pressure loss, flow rate and, coefficient of pressure (Cp). Number of pressure loss that occurs as a result of the contraction effect of flow causes the fluid flow is not able to withstand the rate of formationof the boundary layer. The occurance of a large pressure loss causes the discharge or flowrate out of the nozzle does not match what was expected. Great pressure loss causes great number of Cp (coefficient of pressure). Cp values become important parameters to be analyzed in the context of its application to the nozzle. Great value of Cp causes decreasing the value of Cd (coefficient of discharge) . The decreasing value of Cd can reduce the performance of work on the nozzle. Cd value is the ratio between the amount of actual discharge nozzle and ideal discharge nozzle rate. Aims of this study is to determine the relevance value of discharge coefficient (Cd) and turbulence on the performance of a nozzle ehich is part of the closed loop-wind tunnel.
