Abstract

Pemanasan global (Global Warming) memberikan pengaruh pada naiknya permukaan air laut sehingga memberikan dampak serius terhadap wilayah pesisir. Dipredikisi terdapat 30 kota di Indonesia yang berpotensi terkena dampak bencana tersebut, salah satunya adalah Kota Surabaya dimana eksploitasi dan pengembangan kota di kawasan pesisir dilakukan secara besar-besaran. Tugas akhir ini membahas tentang kerentanan penduduk Surabaya terhadap ancaman sea level rise, khususnya di wilayah Kecamatan Benowo hingga Kecamatan Kenjeran Surabaya. Daerah studi ini dipilih karena wilayah tersebut merupakan fokus pengembangan Kota Surabaya dengan tingkat pertumbuhan penduduk yang tinggi. Metode Vulnerability Index dan software ArcGIS digunakan untuk menganalisa kerentanan yang terjadi di wilayah studi dan kemudian diintepretasikan dalam bentuk peta sebagai upaya mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang empiris. Berdasarkan hasil analisa, prediksi kenaikan muka air laut di wilayah studi adalah 4,8 mm/tahun dengan indeks kerentanan tertinggi adalah 4.15 berada di Kecamatan Semampir.

Global warming causes rising in sea level that potentially gives serious impact on coastal area and its people. From the previous study it has been predicted that around 30 cities in Indonesia will be potentially affected by the effect of SLR. This includes Surabaya where urbanization is concentrated in low land coastal area. This Final Project discusses the vulnerability of Surabaya to the effect of SLR. The discussions are focused on the vulnerability assessment of the people in the area of Kenjeran and Benowo District of Surabaya. Both areas are the focus of development of Surabaya local government and known as area with high population growth rate. Vulnerability Index method and Arc GIS software are used to analyze the vulnerability in the study area and later intepreted in a maps as an attempt to get empirical result. Based on the analyses, the prediction of sea level rise is 4.8 milimeter/year with the highest vulnerability index is 4.15 in Semampir District
