Abstract
Poros merupakan salah satu bagian terpenting dari pompa sentrifugal multistage. Poros berfungsi sebagai penyalur daya atau tenaga melalui putaran sehingga poros ikut berputar. Baja AISI 4140 merupakan baja paduan rendah dengan unsur paduan tambahan chromium dan molybdenum merupakan bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai poros, baja tersebut ekuivalen dengan ASSAB 709 dimana kekerasannya hanya sekitar 293 HV, sedangkan kekerasan yang disyaratkan untuk aplikasi poros adalah sebesar 302-372 HV. Perlakuan panas dilakukan dengan variasi temperatur austenisasi, media quenching, dan temperatur tempering dengan tujuan mendapatkan sifat mekanik yang sesuai dengan standar. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh temperatur tempering serta waktu tahan. Metode pengujian yang digunakan adalah uji hardness Vickers dan uji metalografi. Hasil dari analisis ini didapatkan nilai kekerasan tertinggi sebesar 379 HV dengan menggunakan temperatur tempering terendah yakni 510OC dan holding time tercepat dengan waktu selama 1 jam, sedangkan nilai kekerasan terendah yakni 342 HV dengan temperatur tempering terbesar dengan temperatur 585 OC dan holding time terlama yakni 2 jam. Hasil yang telah didapatkan, kekerasan sudah memenuhi standar sebagai poros dan juga membuktikan bahwa semakin tinggi temperatur tempering serta semakin lama waktu tahan, maka nilai kekerasannya akan semakin menurun. ================================================================================================================== Shaft is one of the most important parts of a multistage centrifugal pump. The shaft functions as a distributor of power or power through rotation so that the shaft rotates. AISI 4140 steel is a low alloy steel with additional alloying elements chromium and molybdenum is a material that can be used as a shaft, the steel is equivalent to ASSAB 709 where the hardness is only about 293 HV, while the hardness required for shaft applications is 302-372 HV. Heat treatment is carried out with variations in austenisation temperature, quenching media, and tempering temperature with the aim of obtaining mechanical properties that are in accordance with the standard. This research was conducted to analyze the effect of tempering temperature and holding time. The test method used is the Vickers hardness test and metallographic test. The results of this analysis obtained the highest hardness value is 379 HV using the lowest tempering temperature of 510OC and the fastest holding time with a time of 1 hour, while the lowest hardness value of 342 HV with the largest tempering temperature with a temperature of 585OC and the longest holding time of 2 hours . The results that have been obtained, the hardness has met the standard as a pivot and also proves that more higher the tempering temperature and more longer the holding time, the value of hardness material will decreases.
