Abstract

Education is the main thing that will sustain the progress of a nation. The progress of a nation can be measured by the quality and existing education system. One of the developments of education that began to be noticed by many countries lately is character education. The basis in character building is the environment. The environment is also one of the factors that influence student learning processes. The physical aspects of the learning environment can have a direct influence on learning, behavior, and productivity. The intended environmental factors are divided into two, namely the natural and social environment. Nature has a considerable influence on human life, nature can increase positive behavior patterns and facilitate the development of gross, cognitive, and social motor skills associated with greater academic success. So, that in this design, the designer raised the issue of the natural environment as a factor of the influence of nature on the teaching and learning process with a biomimicry approach so as to create a link between humans and nature and the building itself, and be able to find out the influence of the school if it blends with nature in the teaching and learning process. Aside from being a Nature School, by referring to the concept of design, the school also functions as a public space. The public space presented in the school in the form of creative space is expected to have a positive impact and increase productivity and creativity which can trigger economic growth, especially residents around the school.
