Abstract

Limbah yang dihasilkan industri dapat berupa limbah cair, padat, gas dan sifat B3 (Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun). Penelitian dilakukan pada PT X, suatu industri kimia yang dalam produksinya menghasilkan limbah berupa limbah cair B3 dan limbah minyak dan untuk mengolah limbahnya PT X menggunakan Waste Liquid Incinerator System (WLIS). Insinerator dilengkapi dengan alat pengendali pencemaran udara berupa wet scrubber dan quencher. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan analisis metode penurunan kadar emisi limbah cair industri dengan proses pembakaran dalam insinerator. Pada instalasi Waste Liquid Incinerator System (WLIS) di PT X dilakukan tes kinerja insinerator dengan beberapa variabel antara lain, beban waste water umpan insinerator dan komposisi campuran antara waste water A, B dan C. Analisa dilakukan dengan metode statistik keterkaitan variabel bebas dan terikat dengan Microsoft Excel. Juga dilakukan simulasi kinerja WLIS dengan software ChemCAD, serta analisa kualitatif pengaruh parameter operasi insinerator terhadap kinerja dan emisi gas pada stack insinerator. Hasil analisa data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan kenaikan beban insinerator (4,5 ton/jam - 5,5 ton/jam) akan menaikkan efisiensi kinerja insinerator sampai beban 5 ton/jam kemudian cenderung menurun sampai dengan beban 5,5 ton/jam. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh konsumsi energi spesifik (kcal/kg) terhadap perubahan beban insinerator, dimana efisiensi insinerator adalah berbanding terbalik terhadap konsumsi energi spesifik. Sementara emisi gas CO cenderung naik dengan naiknya beban insinerator. Nilai emisi gas CO terbesar adalah sebesar 91 mg/Nm3 yaitu pada saat kondisi beban 5,5 ton/jam. Emisi gas CO terbesar tersebut terjadi pada kondisi lambda 1,36 dan rasio antara limbah cair SAP/AA 0,5. Sementara untuk emisi CO paling rendah adalah sebesar 1 yaitu pada kondisi beban 4,5 ton/jam, kondisi lambda 1,3 dan rasio antara limbah cair SAP/AA 0,9. ================================================================================================================== Waste produced by industry can be in the form of liquid, solid and gas and has the characteristics of hazardous and toxic material. This research conducted at PT X, a chemical industry which in its production produces waste in the form of hazardous liquid waste and also waste oil. To treat their waste, PT X is using a Waste Liquid Incinerator System (WLIS). The incinerator is equipped with air pollution control devices such as wet scrubber and quencher. This research aims to analyze the method of reducing the level of emissions of industrial waste water by combustion processes in incinerator. In the installation of the Waste Liquid Incinerator (WLIS) at PT X, an incinerator performance test were tested with several variables, namely the incinerator waste water feed load and the mixed composition of waste water A, B and C. Analysis was carried out using statistical methods related to independent and dependent variables with Microsoft Excel, simulation of WLIS performance with ChemCAD software, and qualitative analysis of the effect of incinerator operating parameters on gas performance and emissions on the incinerator stack. The result of this research show that with the increase of incinerator load (4.5 tons/hour - 5.5 tons/hour) the efficiency of incinerator performance increased to a load of 5 tons/hour and then tends to decreased up to a load of 5.5 tons/hour. This is indicated by the specific energy consumption (kcal/kg) of the incinerator load changes, where the efficiency of the incinerator is inversely related to the specific energy consumption. While CO gas emissions tend to increased with the increasing of the incinerator load. The highest value of CO gas emissions is 91 mg/Nm3, which occured at 5.5 tons/hour load conditions, lambda condition at 1.36 and the ratio between SAP/AA wastewater was in 0.5. Whereas the lowest CO emission is 1 which is 4.5 tons/hour load condition, lambda condition at 1.3 and the ratio of SAP/AA wastewater was in 0.9.
