Abstract

=====================================================================
Based on the data obtained by the Dinas Sosial DKI Jakarta, 20% of the society living in DKI Jakarta has experienced mild to severe mental disorders. The intense and hectic life of the people who live and work in Jakarta is one of the main factors. However, the public still has low awareness of mental health. The majority of individuals are still insensitive and don’t understand of their own mental health. Apart from that, some individuals who already perceive about it are also still bounded by the stigma of the community, so they are hesitant to check on themselves and ashamed to do undergoing treatment for their own mental health.
Oftentimes, individuals realize that their mental health is disrupted through the physical symptoms such as palpitations, nausea, tremors, headaches and stomachaches. In the medical world, the condition is called a psychosomatic symptom of a condition when the mind affects the body and triggers physical complaints. Psychosomatic disorders themselves can be healed by physical treatment, but psychological therapy (psychotherapy) is what they actually needed.
Psychotherapy can psychologically help the treatment, as in the form of mindset and behavior therapy that trains a person's response to situations. On the other hand, psychotherapy can also indirectly be useful for maintaining mental health stability of individuals who are not aware of their mental health.
By collecting and analyzing data about psychotherapy, architecture have a role in creating spaces that facilitate the activities of applying psychotherapy. Through environmental psychology approaches, this psychotherapy place is built under multiactivity place. Salutarum is designed to accommodate the conscious visitor optimally so they aren’t hesitate to go through the healing process and help the non-conscious visitors in realizing their mental health through existing activities. The concept of non-hospital setting also helps the psychotherapy process in creating a psychologically supportive atmosphere.
