Abstract

Indonesia Power Pesanggaran.

The activity process to create electricity power by using Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is being used to move turbine and generator that generate electricity. There are several unit’s activities that produce emissions that can cause impacts to environment. The result of this cause, emissions produce CO2, CH4, N2O, SOx, NOx, dan Particulate Matter (PM). However, these emissions have the potential to increase global warming and decreased air quality that will give an impact to the environment and mankind. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the emission load that give result from the electricity production process; on the other hand, analyze the impact of the electricity production process can give alternative to reduce negative effect to the environment.
This study identifies the impact that occurs from the electricity production activities at PLTDG PT. Indonesia Pesanggaran uses Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method to approach. LCA is an analytical method used to evaluate and compare the environmental impact of a product. In order to identified the cause to the environment, SimaPro 9.0.0 is the software to use. The power production activity process unit analyzed include LNG tanks, HSD tanks, water tanks, turbines, and generator.
The results of the calculation of the emission load are obtained in production process of turbine and generator unit of PLTDG PT. Indonesia Power Persanggaran around 467.556.162 kgCO2/year, 21.764,33 kgCH4/year, 4.352,86 kgN2O/year, 131.216 kgSOx/year, 68.215 kgNOx/year. Meanwhile, the analysis on SimaPro 9.0.0 is using Eco Indicator 99 method, it gave a result in magnitude of the environmental impact that occurred from activities analyzed such as human health as much as 124 DALY, ecosystem quality of 7.95 x 105 pdf.m2. year and for the resource category of 2.86 x 107 MJ surplus. The unit that have the greatest influence in analysis are the turbine and generator, which have value over 6.49 MPt. After knowing what it capable, an alternative analysis is carried out that can be used in each activity. There is a couple of alternative remedy that can be applied to PLTDG PT. Indonesia Power Pesanggaran which are, biodiesel substitution as substitute for fossil energy fuel and adding tools in the form of moving beds on turbine and generator. This alternative can reduce the impact that occurs in the electricity production process at PT. Indonesia Power Pesanggaran.
