Abstract

========================================================= ========================================================= The geothermal system has main several components, there are heat source, reservoir and cap rock. For geophysics method, the most efficient method for geothermal exploration is the magnetoteluric method because it has a very deep penetration. In this research, the method that is used is the magnetoteluric method with the number of data are 25 MT points on the "Alpha" geothermal field. This research was conducted with the aim of mapping the distribution of resistivity and analyzing the geothermal field system "Alpha" based on the results of 2D modeling of magnetoteluric data integrated with regional geological data. MT data has an .EDI extension which will be processed using WinGlink software which will be produced a section of the 2D subsurface layer model. The inversion method using Non Linear Conjugate Gradient (NLCG) contained in WinGlink software. Magnetotelluric processing steps consist of Smoothing Data, Masking Data, Static Shift Correction, 1D Occam and Bostick inversion, Mesh Parameters, 2D inversion and interpretation of inversion models. Modelling results show that the resistivity value of 1-14 Ωm are indicated as a caprock, the resistivity values of 24–170 Ωm are indicated as a reservoar, the resistivity values of 170–2000 Ωm are indicated as heatsource.
