Abstract

The need for equitable quality of human health in Indonesia is important today. According to WHO, Indonesia requires a minimum of 5.1 million blood bags each year and requires 19.5 million vaccine vials to be distributed throughout Indonesia to achieve equitable health. However, in the process there are obstacles where the distribution of these drugs is hampered due to the lack of technology that is able to keep the drugs in the best quality under certain conditions. The current coolbox technology is not effective enough because it still uses fairly conventional ice packs and is unable to maintain the quality of medicines in the long run, especially when the drugs are sent to areas far from the origin. In this final project has been designed a new and innovative technology in the form of an IoT-based portable coolbox that uses a DC steam compression system to answer the problem. The test results prove, the performance of the cooling system that runs is worth 4.95 on no load condition, increased to 5.92 after being given 50% load space volume, and increased again to 6.93 when the load reached 100%. In addition, the IoT system which is run on a small scale has proven to be effective to run with a tolerance level of thermocouple components of 500C and DHT11 30C which makes the value more accurate. The presence of this technology was considered feasible from an economic aspect to be commercialized so that it could be widely marketed, as evidenced by the results of the analysis using the Benefit Cost Ratio method with the number of value is 1.11.
