Abstract

The occurrence of floods in the downstream of Jeneberang Sub catchment on January 21 to 23 January 2019 caused by the overflow of the Jeneberang river at several points due to capacity of the cross section of the river is no longer able to accommodate the river discharge flow originating from the discharge of the Bili-Bili dam. The purpose of this study is to calculate the discharge that is able to flow in the downstream of Jeneberang river. Analyze the results of flow model simulation and calibration data based on records of floods that have occurred. Calculate the area of flood inundation in the Jeneberang Sub-watershed downstream with rainfall periods of 25, 50, 100, 200, and 1000 years. As well as analyzing the risk of flood hazard levels to support the early warning system of floods.
DEM data is used as a basic map in river geometry design. Hydrological analysis using the frequency distribution Log Pearson III, the intensity of rain for 4 hours is made as the initial condition of the 2D area in unsteady flow simulation. Data recording hour-outflow outflow for ten days at the Bili-Bili Dam and rating curve of the rubber dam are made upstream and downstream boundary conditions. With unsteady flow data simulation
The results obtained from the simulation results using HEC-RAS, the capacity maximum flows discharge that can be accommodated by the Jeneberang river downstream is 837.39 m3 / d. From the comparison of the height of the inundation results of field measurements with the height of the inundation results of the simulation with hyetograph input of rainfall intensity for 4 hours for each return period, we get the results that the 50-year precipitation return period is closest to the results of the field data. The result of the area of inundation area with precipitation input for a 25-year return period is 18,398 m2, while for a 50-year precipitation return period is 20,310 m2. For rainfall, the 100-year return period is 21,987 m2. For rain the 200-year return period is 22,850 m2. And for rain the 1000 year return period is an area of 25,193 m2. Somba Opu District is the area that has the highest level of risk of flooding. The flow takes 2 hours 10 minutes since the curve rises until the beginning of the flood in Somba Opu subdistrict.
