Abstract

Association South East Asia Nation (ASEAN) is a geopolitical and economic organization of countries in the Southeast Asian region. ASEAN economic growth has a major contribution in the world economy. ASEAN consists of several developed and developing countries. Increasing the economic growth of each ASEAN country will be able to improve the welfare of each country so that progress will be made together. The level of economic growth can be measured using Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita achieved by a country. A country's economic growth is influenced by Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). This two-way relationship between GDP per capita and FDI can be summarized in a system of simultaneous equations. Economic variables are dynamic in which their value is influenced by the value of the variable itself in the past and also the value of other variables. Research using simultaneous dynamic panel data equations can use the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) method. The modeling results state that lag of GDP per capita, total exports and population significantly affect the GDP per capita in ASEAN. While the lag of FDI, GDP per capita, total export and the exchange rate significantly affects FDI. The R-square obtained from the structural equation modeling of GDP per capita was 99,82% and from the structural equation FDI of 71,22%.
