Abstract

Fe-N (Besi Nitrida) mempunyai beberapa jenis fasa yang dapat terbentuk. Sintesis Fe-N menggunakan basis Fe3O4 (magnetite) dari pasir besi komersial dilakukan dengan proses nitridasi. Sintesis serbuk Fe3O4 diproses menggunakan metode kopresipitasi yaitu dengan dilarutkan pasir besi komersial dengan larutan HCl dan dititrasi dengan larutan NH4OH. Proses nitridasi dilakukan dengan serbuk Fe3O4 dialiri oleh gas NH3 dengan tekanan 5 Psi dan flow 100 mL/min, serta variasi suhu 500ºC, 600ºC, dan 700ºC selama holding time 3 dan 4 jam. Hasil serbuk dari sintesis Fe-N dikarakterisasi menggunakan XRD untuk menganalisis pembentukan fasa, SEM untuk mengetahui bentuk morfologi, dan EDS untuk menganalisis komposisi atom yang terkandung. Dari Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan fasa dan morfologi partikel dipengaruhi oleh variasi suhu pada proses nitridasi. Pada penelitian ini Fe3N terbentuk dari sintesis menggunakan proses nitridasi pada variasi suhu 600ºC dan 700ºC. Didapatkan komposisi Fe3N 75,9 %wt pada suhu 700ºC dan 56,7 %wt pada suhu 600ºC. Morfologi Fe3N yang terbentuk memiliki model sponge-like.

Fe-N (Iron Nitride) has several types of phases that can be formed. The synthesis of Fe-N using Fe3O4 (magnetite) base from commercial iron sand is carried out by nitriding process. The synthesis of Fe3O4 powder was processed using the coprecipitation method by dissolving commercial iron sand with HCl solution and titrating with NH4OH solution. The nitriding process was carried out with Fe3O4 powder flowed by NH3 gas with a pressure of 5 Psi and flow of 100 mL / min, as well as temperature variations of 500ºC, 600ºC, and 700ºC during holding time of 3 and 4 hours. The results of the powder from Fe-N synthesis were characterized using XRD to analyze phase formation, SEM to determine the morphological form, and EDS to analyze the composition of the atoms contained. From the results of the study showed that the formation of phase and particle morphology was influenced by temperature variations in the nitriding process. In this study Fe3N was formed from synthesis using a nitriding process at a temperature variation of 600ºC and 700ºC. The composition of Fe3N 75,9 %wt at 700ºC and 56,7% at 600ºC was obtained. The Fe3N morphology formed has a sponge-like model.
