Abstract

Beton bertulang merupakan gabungan logis dari dua jenis bahan/ material yaitu beton polos dan tulangan baja. Beton polos merupakan bahan yang memiliki kekuatan tekan yang tinggi akan tetapi memiliki kekuatan tarik yang rendah. Sedangkan tulangan baja akan memberi kekuatan tarik yang besar sehingga tulangan baja akan memberi kekuatan tarik yang diperlukan. Dengan adanya kelebihan masing-masing elemen tersebut, maka konfigurasi antara beton dan tulangan baja diharapkan dapat saling bekerjasama dalam menahan gaya-gaya yang berkerja dalam struktur tersebut, dimana gaya tekan ditahan oleh beton, dan tarik ditahan oleh tulangan baja ===================================================================================================== Reinforced concrete is a logical combination of two types of materials, namely plain concrete and steel reinforcement. Plain concrete is a material that has high compressive strength however has low tensile strength. Meanwhile, steel reinforcement will provide high tensile strength large so that the steel reinforcement will provide the required tensile strength. As is the advantages of each of these elements, the configuration between the concrete and steel reinforcement expected to cooperate with each other in resisting the forces that work in the structure where the compressive force is held by the concrete, and tensile is held by the steel reinforcement
