Abstract

Perkembangan transportasi laut sangat pesat sehingga
mendorong orang untuk menciptakan suatu sistem propulsi yang
lebih canggih, hemat bahan bakar dan ramah lingkungan yaitu
diesel elecric propulsion ( DEP ).Tujuan perancangan sistem DEP
ini adalah untuk dapat menentukan sistem propulsi yang paling
optimal baik dari segi teknis maupun ekonomisnya , mengingat
peletakan kamar mesin pada sistem sebelumnya ( DMP ) di bagian
tengah kapal.
Pada tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan perhitungan resistance,
pemilihan prime mover, genset, elctrical system, pemilihan
propulsor ( Compact Azipod ) dan total Capital Cost baik untuk
sistem DEP maupun sistem DMP.
Dari hasil analisa diketahui bahwa penggunaan sistem DEP
pada kapal LPD akan dapat menghemat bahan bakar ( Fuel oil )
sebesar 42,85% selama 20 tahun ke depan yang secara otomatisdapat menambah saving cost dan bersifat lebih ramah lingkungan
.Dari segi weight and space penerapan sistem DEP pada kapal
LPD lebih menguntungkan mengingat adanya eliminasi beberapa
komponen dari sistem DMP . Perencanaan propulsion system ini
diharapkan agar dapat dijadikan sebagai pertimbangan untuk
pembangunan kapal jenis LPD selanjutnya, dan secara umum DEP
dapat digunakan sebagai competitor dari DMP dalam
pembangunan kapal berikutnya.

The development of sea transport is very rapid, so
encourage people to create a propulsion system which more
powerful, thrifty fuel and environmentally friendly that is
Diesel Electric Propulsion (DEP). DEP are designed to
determine the most optimal in terms of both technical and
economical, considering the engine room layout on the
previous system (DMP) in the middle of the ship
(AmidshipMachinery).
In this final task will determine calculation of
resistance, selection prime Mover, genset, electrical system,
selection of propulsor ( Compact Azipod ) and total Capital
cost for both system (DMP and DEP system).
From the analysis can be determine that use of the DEP
system on the ship LPD can save fuel (Fuel oil) of 42.85%
for 20 years which can automatically increase the cost saving
and more environmentally friendly. In terms of weight and
implementation of space systems on ships, DEP moreprofitable considering elimination of several components of
the DMP system. Propulsion planning system is expected to
be made as consideration for next development of LPD and
and generally, DEP can be used as competitors of the DMP in
the development of the next ship
