Abstract

Zaman telah berkembang namun pengelasan tetap digunakan hingga saat ini. Material baja A36 dan A53 merupakan baja karbon rendah yang presentase karbonnya relatif sama. Kedua baja tersebut sering dijumpai dalam industri kemaritiman karena mudah untuk dilas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh proses preheating dan bentuk kampuh V terhadap ketajanan tekuk, kekuatan tarik, dan uji metalografi, pada pengelasan baja ASTM A53 dengan A36 dan proses pengelasan yang digunakan adalah FCAW. Adapun variasi temperatur preheating yang digunakan adalah 100°C dan 150°C dengan variasi bentuk kampuh single V groove dan double V groove. Nilai open defect terbesar pada uji bending yaitu 0,193 mm dimiliki oleh spesimen dengan temperatur preheat 100°C dan double V groove. Pada hasil uji kekuatan tarik, pengelasan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan temperatur preheat 150°C dan kampuh double V groove mempunyai rata-rata nilai ultimate strength terbesar yaitu 486,256 MPa dan yield strength 424,513 MPa. Hasil pengamatan struktur makro-mikro pada spesimen dengan temperatur 150°C dan kampuh single V groove memiliki lebar HAZ terbesar yaitu 5,10 mm dan rata-rata presentase fase ferrite sebesar 59,72% dan dengan pearlite terbesar sebesar 40,28% pada spesimen dengan temperatur 150°C dan bentuk kampuh double V groove.

Age has developed but welding is still used today. Steel material A36 and A53 are low
carbon steels with relatively the same carbon percentage. Both steels are often found in
the maritime industry because they are easy to weld. This study aims to determine the
effect of the preheating process and the shape of seam V on bending sharpness, tensile
strength, and metallographic tests, on ASTM A53 steel welding with A36 and the
welding process used is FCAW. The variations in preheating temperature used were 100 °
C and 150 ° C with variations in the shape of the single V groove and the double V
groove seam. The largest open defect value in the bending test, namely 0,193 mm, is
owned by specimens with a preheat temperature of 100 ° C and a double V groove. In the
results of the tensile strength test, the welding carried out using a preheat temperature of
150 ° C and a double V groove seam had the largest average ultimate strength value,
namely 486,256 MPa and 424,513 MPa yield strength. The results of the observation of
the macro-micro structure of the specimen with a temperature of 150 ° C and a single V
groove seam had the largest HAZ width of 5,10 mm and an average ferrite phase
percentage of 59.72% and with the largest pearlite of 40.28% in specimens with a
temperature of 150°C and a double V groove.
