Abstract

Pencemaran lingkungan muncul dan tumbuh seiring dengan industrialisasi dan aktivitas pertanian yang semakin meningkat. Hal ini dapat menimbulkan masalah lingkungan. Tingkat pencemaran tanah yang tinggi dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada tanah terutama hadirnya unsur logam berat, salah satunya adalah seng (Zn). Kehadiran logam seng pada tanah perlu dipulihkan/ diremediasi. Fitoremediasi adalah teknologi inovatif, efektif biaya, aman, dan estetika yang dapat diterapkan jangka Panjang, salah satunya dengan menggunakan bunga matahari (Helianthus Annuus L). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kemampuan bunga matahari dalam meremediasi seng (Zn) pada tanah tercemar dan faktor partisi Zn dalam interaksi tanah-tanaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen ex situ menggunakan biji bunga matahari dengan 8 perlakuan berbeda untuk masing-masing perlakuan. Ini dimulai dengan persiapan media tanah contoh pada tanah kebun, dan penyemaian benih bunga matahari. Perlakuan tingkat pencemaran Zn dalam tanah adalah 50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 250 mg/kg, 350 mg/kg. Pemeriksaan sampel tanah dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali selama 12 minggu setelah pemberian pencemar tambahan. Analisis laboratorium Zn dilakukan dengan metode Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Serapan terbesar Zn oleh tanaman bunga matahari berada pada perlakuan E6Zn pada minggu ke 12 dimana kandungan Zn pada akar 69,03 ppm dan pada daun 33,45 ppm. Penyerapan terendah terjadi pada perlakuan E1Zn yakni kandungan Zn akar 16,33 ppm dan pada daun 12,14 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akar memiliki kemampuan untuk mentranslokasi lebih banyak Zn daripada daun, yang menunjukkan mekanisme fitoremediasi. Tanaman bunga matahari mampu mentranslokasi Zn, yang membuktikannya dapat diandalkan untuk fitoremediasi tanah yang tercemar Zn. Nilai BCF dan FT hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tanaman bunga matahari dapat dinyatakan sebagai sejenis tanaman hyperkumulator yang membantu memperbaiki kondisi lahan terkontaminasi, serta mentraslokasi jumlah uptake dari Zn melalui akar, daun dan batang

Environmental pollution has been increasing along with the grow of industrialization and agricultural activities. High soil contaminated by heavy metals, one of which is zinc (Zn), can damage the soil. A remediation effort needs to be conducted. Phytoremediation is an innovative, cost effective, safe and aesthetic technology that can be applied for the longterm application. One of the plants that can be utilized is sunflower (Helianthus Annuus L). This study aimed to assess the ability of sunflowers to remediate Zinc in affected soils and the Zn partition factor in soil-plant interactions. The research method used was an ex-situ experiment using sunflower seeds with 8 different treatments. This begins with the preparation of sample soil media and sowing sunflower seeds. The levels of Zn contamination in the soil were 50 mg / kg, 100 mg / kg, 150 mg / kg, 200 mg / kg, 250 mg / kg, 350 mg / kg. Carried out three sampling times over 12 weeks after offering additional pollutants. Laboratory analysis of Zn was performed using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. And the largest absorption of Zn by sunflower plants was in the E6Zn treatment at week 12 where the residual of Zn in the roots was 69.03 ppm and in the leaves was 33.45 ppm. The lowest absorption occurred in the E1Zn treatment, in which the residual of Zn in the roots was 16.33 ppm and in the leaves was 12.14 ppm. The results showed that the roots had the ability to translocate more Zn compared to the leaves. Sunflower plants are able to translocate Zn, which proves it reliable for phytoremediation of Zn-contaminated soil. The value of BCF and FT from the analysis means that sunflower plants can be categorized as a type of hypercumulator plant that helps improve contaminated land conditions and translocated the amount of Zinc from soils to the plant through roots, leaves and stems.
