Abstract

==============================

The Fila Dam, located in East Nusa Tenggara, is designed to store water to meet the community's water needs. In planning a need that requires a high level of confidence, this is because the cost of development is very large. Therefore, one of the steps to get the perfect design is to test the physical model. In the Fila Dam transition channel, channel widening occurs. The widening of the channel is expected to cause cross flow. The danger that can be caused by cross flow is the occurrence of scouring and erosion. This study aims to determine the effect of baffle block on cross flow.
The research was conducted at the ITS hydraulic laboratory. The scale of the model is 1:50. The scale used is not distorted. To determine the hydraulic conditions, a test was carried out on the original design as a type 0 model test, namely a model based on the consultant's design. The test will be carried out with variations in the discharge of Q2, Q10, Q50, Q100, Q1000 and Qpmf. There are 4 variations that will be observed, namely without baffle block (type 3 model), with several baffle blocks (type 1 model and type 2 model) and all baffle blocks or according to design (type 0 model).
From the model test results, it is found that the type 0 model has better performance than other type models. type 0 model reduce the most energy. The type 0 model at maximum discharge has a % energy loss 10.821% greater than the type 1 model, 14.889% greater than the type 2 model and 33.02 % greater than the type 3 model.
