Abstract

Adsorption of Remazol Blue and Indigosol Yellow using bidara arab leaves (Ziziphus spina-christi) as adsorbents has been done. Remazol Blue and Indigosol Yellow are synthetic dyes that used in batik coloring. The batik dye waste can cause pollution thus it is necessary to process the waste to reduce its concentration. Adsorption is one of the effective methods to lower the dyes concentration. The parameters used in this study were in contact time, adsorbent mass, initial concentrations, and pH. Adsorption results are measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at the maximum wavelength of each dye. The research was conducted on a triplo and using t-test "Paired Two Sample for Means" with a standard deviation <2%, the optimum conditions of the adsorption were obtained at 45 minutes contact time, 45 mg adsorbent mass, 30 ppm initial concentration, and at pH 3. Based on the research, it can be concluded that bidara arab leaves is an adsorbent that can lower the concentration of dyes mixture contained in batik waste.
