Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dari sudut pandang perusahaan penyedia layanan logistik dan jaringan logistik palet closed loop menjadi fokus yang diamati. Dalam sistem closed loop, sistem logistik dan persediaan palet menjadi lebih kompleks karena adanya arus balik dari palet kosong yang juga harus dikelola dari hilir ke hulu dalam rantai pasok. Perusahaan menerapkan sistem sewa palet sebagai strategi manajemen palet yang digunakan. Saat ini, perusahaan menghadapi tantangan dalam mengurangi total biaya palet, yang terdiri dari biaya sewa palet dan biaya transportasi palet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan model optimasi biaya palet yang menentukan jumlah persediaan palet, penambahaan palet, dan pengembalian palet untuk pusat distribusi dan pergerakan palet perusahaan untuk mengurangi total biaya palet. Model yang diusulkan menggunakan integer linear programming berdasarkan jaringan logistik palet perusahaan. Kemudian, model tersebut diterjemahkan ke dalam perangkat lunak optimasi untuk menghasilkan solusi optimal. Data input historis juga diramalkan dengan beberapa metode peramalan dan dijalankan dalam model untuk rekomendasi masa depan kepada perusahaan. Berdasarkan hasil optimasi dengan data input historis, persediaan palet mengalami penurunan hingga 66% dibandingkan dengan kondisi awal perusahaan. Dengan menggunakan model yang diusulkan, perusahaan juga dapat mengurangi total biaya palet hingga 41%, dengan penurunan biaya sewa palet sebesar 69%, penurunan biaya transportasi truk palet sebesar 43%, dan penurunan biaya transportasi shuttle palet sebesar 7%.

This project is conducted from logistic service provider company point of view and closed loop pallet logistics network becomes the focus studied. In the closed loop system, the pallet logistics and inventory are more complex due to the reverse flows of empty pallets also must be managed from downstream to upstream in the supply chain. The company implements pallet rent system as their pallet management strategy. Currently, the company faces challenges in reducing their total pallet cost, which consist of pallet rent cost and pallet transport cost. This project aims to provide pallet cost optimization model that determine the number of pallet inventory, additional pallet, and return pallet for the company’s distribution center and pallet movement to reduce their total pallet cost. The proposed model uses integer linear programming based on the company’s pallet logistics network. Then, the model is translated into optimization software to generate the optimal solution. Historical input data is also forecasted with several forecasting method and run in the model for future recommendation to the company. From the optimization result with historical input data, pallet inventory is decreased up to 66% compared with the company’s initial condition. By using the proposed model, the company can also reduce their total pallet cost up to 41%, with 69% decrease in pallet rent cost, 43% decrease in pallet truck transport cost, and 7% decrease in pallet shuttle transport cost.
