Abstract

Penggunaan bahan radioaktif sudah banyak dimanfaatkan di berbagai bidang seperti kesehatan, industri, serta di bidang penelitian dan pelatihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola sebaran dosis radiasi di ruang penyinaran iradiator Cs-137 dan ruangan sekitarnya, serta menentukan daerah kerja dalam kategori daerah pengawasan atau daerah pengendalian. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan surveymeter dan sumber radiasi Cesium-137 dengan energi sebesar 0,6 MeV. Menggunakan 71 titik pengukuran yang tersebar pada 4 ruangan dengan jarak antar titik 80 cm dan dengan ketinggian 120 cm sejajar dengan sumber iradiator. Selanjutnya lama waktu penyinaran diatur selama 5 menit dengan pengulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah laju dosis dalam satuan µSv/h yang kemudian diolah untuk mendapatkan pola sebaran radiasinya. Didapatkan bahwa pola sebaran radiasi yang dihasilkan dapat menunjukkan titik-titik yang memiliki nilai laju dosis paling besar hingga paling kecil melalui gradasi warna serta dapat diketahui dan ditentukan pembagian daerah kerja pada masing-masing ruangan dimana ruang iradiator merupakan daerah pengendalian, ruang operator, ruang KAUR, dan koridor merupakan daerah supervisi (pengawasan).

The use of radioactive materials has been widely used in various fields such as health, industry, and research and training. This study aims to determine the pattern of radiation dose distribution in the Cs-137 irradiation room and the surrounding room and determine the work area in the category of surveillance area or control area. This research was conducted using a survey meter and a Cesium-137 radiation source with an energy of 0.6 MeV. Using 71 measurement points spread over 4 rooms with a distance between points of 80 cm and a height of 120 cm parallel to the irradiator source. Furthermore, the irradiation time is set for 5 minutes with 3 repetitions. The result obtained is the dose rate in units of Sv/h, which is then processed to obtain the radiation distribution pattern. It was found that the radiation distribution pattern produced can show the points that have the largest to the smallest dose rate values through color gradations and it can be known and determined the division of work areas in each room where the irradiator room is the control area, operator room, KAUR room, and the corridor is a supervision area.
