Abstract

Sampah Styrene Butadiene Rubber adalah jenis sampah karet yang memiliki aplikasi salah satunya pada karet ban dalam. Sampah tersebut dapat diolah menggunakan proses pirolisis dengan cara dipanaskan dalam suatu reaktor yang kedap oksigen untuk menghasilkan bahan bakar cair. Salah satu jenis pirolisis adalah ko-pirolisis dengan cara mencampurkan dua material atau lebih untuk meningkatkan hasil bahan bakar cair. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh penambahan sampah polistirena berupa styrofoam sebagai material campuran pada ko-pirolisis dengan sampah ban dalam Styrene Butadiene Rubber terhadap hasil pirolisis dan hasil distilasi produk pirolisis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan melakukan ko-pirolisis dengan pencampuran polistirena sebanyak 5, 10, 15%. Produk bahan bakar cair dari proses pirolisis didistilasi pada temperatur 150, 250, 350oC. Hasil produk cair ko-pirolisis memiliki yield optimum sebesar 31.6%wt pada komposisi pencampuran Polistirena 15% berat. Hasil produk distilasi Temperatur 150oC menghasilkan nilai kalor termasuk dalam bahan bakar diesel, temperatur 250oC dan 350oC menghasilkan nilai kalor termasuk bahan bakar bensin.

Styrene Butadiene Rubber waste is a type of rubber waste that has applications as motorcycle tube. The waste can be processed by the pyrolysis process by using it in an oxygen-resistant reactor to produce liquid fuel. One type of pyrolysis is co-pyrolysis by mixing two or more materials to increase the yield of liquid fuel. The material used in the mixture in this study is polystyrene waste. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding polystyrene waste to co-pyrolysis with Styrene Butadiene Rubber motorcyle tube waste on the results of pyrolysis and distillation results of pyrolysis products. The method used in this research is co-pyrolysis by mixing 5, 10, 15% polystyrene. Liquid fuel products from the pyrolysis process are distilled at temperatures of 150, 250, 350oC. The results of the co-pyrolysis liquid product have an optimum yield of 31.6%wt at a mixture composition of 15% by weight Polystyrene. The results of distillation Temperature 150oC produces a calorific value including diesel fuel, temperature of 250oC and 350oC produces a confirmed calorific value of gasoline fuel.
