Abstract

Pencemar udara berbahaya di dalam ruangan antara lain karbon monoksida (CO), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), Particulate Matter (PM), polutan biologis, dan lain-lain. Sumber pajanan pencemar udara dalam ruangan dapat dihasilkan melalui aktivitas penghuni, seperti memasak, merokok, penggunaan mesin elektronik, atau emisi dari bahan bangunan. Pajanan zat pencemar udara pada manusia dapat menyebabkan dampak yang serius, seperti gangguan kesehatan pada saraf, hati, jantung, paru-paru, ginjal, sistem reproduksi, dan kanker. Maka dari itu fitoremediasi untuk menghilangkan pencemar udara dalam ruang diusulkan sebagai cara yang efisien dan hemat biaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas udara dalam ruangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah mengkaji hasil dari berbagai penelitian yang sudah pernah dilaksanakan. Hasil studi literatur yang diperoleh yaitu proses fitoremediasi pada tanaman dari pajanan zat pencemar udara, kinetika fitoremediasi berbagai jenis tanaman hias untuk menyerap zat pencemar udara, dan rekomendasi jenis dan jumlah peletakkan tanaman hias yang sesuai untuk menyerap polutan masing-masing ruangan di dalam rumah yaitu kamar tidur, ruang tamu, dan ruang kerja.

Sources of exposure to indoor air pollutants can be generated through occupant activities, such as cooking, smoking, use of electronic machines, or emissions from building materials. Exposure to air pollutants in humans can cause serious effects, such as health problems on the nerves, liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, reproductive system, and cancer. Therefore, phytoremediation to remove indoor air pollutants is proposed as an efficient and cost-effective way to improve indoor air quality. The method used is to examine the results of various studies that have been carried out. The results of the literature study obtained are the phytoremediation process in plants from exposure to air pollutants, phytoremediation kinetics of various types of ornamental plants to absorb air pollutants, and recommendations for the type and number of placement of ornamental plants that are suitable for absorbing pollutants in each room in the house, namely the bedroom. bedroom, living room and workspace.
