Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari jumlah lubang, untuk menganalisis pengaruh posisi lubang terhadap retak, untuk menganalisis pengaruh material terhdap retak dengan material baja AISI 1020 dan alumnium AA 2024 – T3, lalu untuk menganalisis pengaruh lubang bulat dan persegi terhadap retak. Variabel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah jumlah lubang, posisi lubang, serta material. Dimana material yang adalah baja AISI 1020 dan aluminium AA 2024 T3 Metode yang digunakan adalah metode elemen hingga. Hasil dari penelitian ini perambatan retak mengarah ke lubang terdekat apabila lubang bersebrangan dengan initial crack dengan posisi simetris maka retak akan merambat lurus, Semakin banyak lubang maka semakin baik dalam menahan perambatan retak, Material AA 2024 T3 lebih baik dari AISI 1020 dalam menahan perambatan retak karena memiliki nilai fracture toughness yang lebih baik(25 MPa-m1/2banding 1,60676 MPa-m1/2 ), Secara umum lubang persegi lebih baik dalam menahan perambatan retak. sementara lubang bulat lebih baik dalam 12 spesimen AA 2024 T3 dan 5 spesimen pada AISI 1020.

The purpose of this study was to analyse effect of the number of holes, analyse effect of the position of the holes on crack, analyse the crack effect to material steel aisi 1020 and aluminium aa 2024 - T3, then to know effect of circle and square holes on cracks. There are some variable that used in this experiment, the first is hole position, second number of hole and the last is the material. The material is steel AISI 1020 and Aluminium AA 2024 T3 The method used is the finite element method. The results of this study lead to crack propagation leading to the nearest hole if the hole is opposite the initial crack with a symmetrical position then the crack will propagate straight, the more holes, the better in resisting crack propagation, Material AA 2024 T3 is better than AISI 1020 in resisting crack propagation because has a better fracture toughness value (25 MPa-m1/2 compared to 1.60676 MPa-m1/2 ), In general square hole is better at resisting crack propagation but circle hole at 12 specimen AA 2024 T3 and 6 Specimen AISI 1020.
