Abstract

Biosorpsi merupakan suatu metode baru dalam pengolahan logam dengan menggunakan makhluk hidup atau microorganisme sebagai adsorben. Biosorpsi sudah banyak digunakan dan dikembangkan penggunaannya, salah satunya yaitu dalam pengolahan Platinum Group Metal (PGM). Salah satu aspek teknologi yang paling penting dari biosorpsi logam mulia dan PGM adalah desorpsi logam dari permukaan biosorbennya. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan analisis terkait pengaruh konsentrasi serta lama waktu perendaman terhadap desorpsi logam Pt. Proses desorpsi menggunakan larutan EDTA dengan konsentrasi 0,5M dan 1M serta waktu kontak 2 jam,4 jam, dan 6 jam. Untuk validasi data, telah dilakukan proses pengujian UV-VIS, FTIR, dan SEM-EDX. Persentase recovery yang paling baik didapatkan pada larutan EDTA 1M dengan waktu kontak 4 jam yaitu sebesar 91,17% berdasarkan uji UV-VIS.

Biosorption is a new method in metal processing using living things or microorganisms as adsorbents. Biosorption has been widely used and developed its use, one of which is in the processing of Platinum Group Metal (PGM). One of the most important technological aspects of the biosorption of precious metals and PGMs is the desorption of metals from the surface of their biosorbents. In this study, an analysis was carried out regarding the effect of concentration and duration of immersion on metal desorption of Pt. The desorption process used EDTA solution with a concentration of 0.5M and 1M and a contact time of 2 hours, 4 hours, and 6 hours. For data validation, UV-VIS, FTIR, and SEM-EDX testing processes have been carried out. The best recovery percentage was found in 1M EDTA solution with a contact time of 4 hours, which was 91.17% based on the UV-VIS test.
