Abstract

Copper is one of the metals that is widely used in industry and its presence in Indonesia. Copper ore is processed to increase the purity of copper. The ore used is copper ore from mines in Papua. This study analyzes the effect of reagent addition time on the grade and recovery of copper and gold resulting from the flotation process. The flotation process was carried out for 16 minutes at pH 10.5 with reagent doses, among others, collector 7249 61.93 l, collector SIBX 3 ml, and frother OTX-140 22.8 l. Reagents are added at a certain period, and the concentrate is taken at a certain period. AAS testing was conducted to determine the elements and percentage of content in the flotation process results. The results obtained from the variation of C100F80 resulted in copper grade values of 5.39% and gold grades of 3.91 ppm. The copper recovery is 96.36%, and the gold recovery is 83.95%, with variations of C100F80. The C100F80 variation is the best variation by obtaining the highest separation efficiency values, namely 79.64% copper and 65.39% gold. With the variation of C100F80, the revenue was 230,703,216,291 USD for the production of 2,184,582 tons of ore.
