Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis kemampuan bentuk pada material CuZn35 dengan merekayasa sifat mekanik dan struktur mikronya menyerupai karakteristik material CuZn30. Agar CuZn35 dapat dibentuk melalui deep drawing seperti CuZn30 maka perlu dilakukan proses perlakuan panas annealing. Parameter annealing yang diamati berupa waktu tahan dengan variasi 30, 60, 90, dan 120 menit. Hasil annealing selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian XRD, metalografi, kekerasan, tarik, dan proses deep drawing. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa annealing berhasil menghilangkan presipitat ꞵ yang terdapat pada spesimen as receive dan terjadi pertumbuhan ukuran butir dari nilai G 3,551 sampai dengan 3,250. Hasil pengujian kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik menunjukkan penurunan nilai yang signifikan hingga waktu tahan 60 menit dengan nilai sebesar 71,26 VHN dan 319 MPa. Sedangkan nilai keuletan semakin meningkat hingga waktu tahan 120 menit dengan nilai sebesar 69,6%. Semua spesimen uji berhasil dibentuk menjadi brass cup tanpa mengalami keretakan. Namun hanya pada waktu tahan 60 dan 90 menit yang memiliki kecocokan sifat kekerasan, kekuatan, serta keuletan dengan material CuZn30.===========================================================================================================This research aims to analyze the formability of CuZn35 by manipulating mechanical properties and microstructures resembling characteristics of CuZn30. Prior to the deep drawing process, it is necessary to do an annealing heat-treatment. The annealing parameters observed were holding time with variations of 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. Then specimen are tested for XRD, metallography, hardness, tensile, and deep drawing processes. From the test, annealing successfully eliminated the ꞵ precipitation contained in the specimen as receive and there was an increase in grain size from the value of G 3,551 to 3,250. The results of hardness and tensile tests showed a significant decrease in value up to a 60-minute holding time of 71.26 VHN and 319 MPa. Ductility value is increased until 120-minute holding time with a value of 69.6%. All test specimens were successfully formed into brass cups without cracking, however only at a holding time of 60 and 90 minutes does the properties of hardness, strength, and ductility match with CuZn30.
