Abstract

DTM data has been widely used for various applications in simulating flood inundation from overflowing river water. This flood inundation simulation needs to be carried out as a preparatory step for flood disaster mitigation to determine the estimated area that might be affected by flood. One of the DTM data processing method is the hydro enforcement, which can be referred to hydro enforced-DTM. This method yields, flat riverbed and no spikes. Furthermore, it can be used for making simulations of flood inundation from overflowing water river. From the simulation process, the result of Study-1 (S1) was estimated from the simulation results of 25 artificial plan water discharge values that show the visualization of flood inundation starting to exceed the river band, and Study-2 (S2) used the actual water discharge value on January 16, 2019 from Central Java Pusdataru Agency. The S1 simulation result showed that the estimated flood inundation simulation result that began to exceed the riverbank at 250 m3/s. Meanwhile, the results of S2 simulation with an actual discharge value of 96.15 m3/s did not show inundation in rice fields, residential areas and on the Kebumen-Kutoarjo National Road after validation. The S2 validation was carried out using flooding result events data based on Central Java Flood Natural Disaster Inventory Recapitulation of Period October 2018 – April 2019 from Central Java Public Works of Water Resources and Spatial Planning Agency. Thus, the simulation result using the actual discharge value (Study-2) is not valid and showed discrepancies with the flooding result events data in Kebumen Sub-District on January 16, 2019.
